When Mark got the call that his 16-year-old daughter, Emily, had skipped school, a wave of panic hit him. She had always been a responsible student—never the type to get into trouble. But as he checked her room for clues, his heart pounded at what he found in her backpack: stacks of cash, far too much for a teenager to have.
Fear gripped him. Where had she gotten this money? Was she involved in something dangerous? His mind raced with worst-case scenarios. Drugs? Theft? A dangerous crowd? Mark knew he couldn’t confront her with anger. Instead, he decided to outsmart the situation.

Relief washed over Mark, but concern remained. He was proud of her business instincts but disappointed by her secrecy and risky choices. He decided to turn this into a lesson.
“You’re smart, Em. But skipping school and dealing with strangers alone isn’t safe,” he said. “If you want to run a business, let’s do it the right way—safely and legally.”
With his guidance, Emily learned about responsible entrepreneurship, and more importantly, honesty. The scare had been real, but in the end, it brought them closer—and taught a lesson she’d never forget.
